SINGAPORE – 21 December 2006 – Mainboard-listed MediaRing Ltd (“MediaRing” or the “Group”), a leading pure-play VoIP telephony service provider in Asia, today announced that Mr Lucas Chow Wing Keung has been appointed as an independent director (“ID”) of the company.

Mr. Chow, who is the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of MediaCorp Pte Ltd since December 2005, will join the MediaRing’s Board on 1 January 2007. With the addition of Mr. Chow, the composition of MediaRing’s Board will be increased from three to four IDs, strongly signaling the Group’s commitment to high standards in corporate governance with Board composition consisting of a majority of IDs.

One of Singapore’s most recognised names in the media and telecommunications business, Mr. Chow has more than 28 years of experience in senior management roles. He started his working career with Hewlett Packard (“HP”) and spent almost 20 years in HP holding several senior positions in various responsibilities. Following this, he joined the senior management team in SingTel in 1998. He held the positions of CEO (SingTel Mobile), Executive Vice President (Consumer Business), his last position being Executive Vice President (Corporate Business) from 2004 to 2005.

The appointment of Mr. Chow is indicative of MediaRing’s commitment on bringing top business individuals into the Group to guide the Company’s growth and help realize premium value for our shareholders.

Mr. Chow also chairs the Communications Advisory Group of the National Art Gallery and serves as a consultant to British Telecom’s Asia Pacific Advisory Board. In addition, he sits on various boards of directors and international advisory committees including Singapore Tourism Board, Health Promotion Board, SingHealth IT, National Art Gallery Implementation Steering Committee, DesignSingapore Council and Creative Community Singapore partnership. Mr. Chow was most recently appointed member of the National University of Singapore Board of Trustees. Mr. Chow graduated with a Bachelor of Science (honours) from the University of Aston, Birmingham (United Kingdom).
